Minibus Driver

As a volunteer driver you will be ensuring that all our lovely customers are collected and transported to the club safely and of course taken back home again after. This role will involve collecting the community mini bus from its location and working from a passenger list to establish your route. You will be assisted by a chaperone who will help clients on and off the bus and remain on the bus with you. Register your interest by clicking here

 

Gardening team member with own transport

 VAEF Gardening service provides a practical service which enables people to go on living independently. The project also brings together clients and volunteers who benefit from the social interaction of helping clients and working with other volunteer gardeners (we work in teams to make the tasks more fun!).Most of the work involves simple weeding, pruning, mowing or trimming. Own transport is a must as gardens can be in locations not well serviced by bus routes. Register your interest by clicking here

 

Handyperson

We are looking for a Volunteer Handyperson to assist us at our Handyman project on a casual ad-hoc basis to help our Handyman when he has a two man jobs, for example, fencing repairing sheds and other tasks.  An Interest in general maintenance, practical and able to follow instructions.  Register your interest by clicking here

 

Digital Buddy Epping Forest district

Digital Buddy volunteers will be helping to teach others to use technology.

Volunteer Buddy for an Adult with Learning Disabilities

We run a friendly craft and activity group for Adults with Learning Disabilities and need volunteers to help out with anything from making the tea to organising and planning fun activities for the members. The group is led by the members and activities can range from art work and indoor sports to trips out, Disco’s and much more!

Health Drop in Advisor

We are looking for volunteers to help us run a public health funded weight loss service and

to support people to achieve a gradual, long term weight loss by weighing in at a variety of community sites, the service is widely promoted to health professionals and the general public through promotional campaigns, social media and traditional media. Vocal Coach for young adults with learning disabilities- Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

We are looking for a person who can work with ensembles, smaller groups and one-to-one, to develop our participants’ vocal .The project is based in and around the Epping District with planned trips to gigs, performances and places of musical interest. Register your interest by clicking here

 

Allotment Advisor

This project for People with Learning Disabilities needs someone to help with planning and growing a successful allotment plot. The post is flexible and you can either volunteer weekly or in an advisory role.

Office Whizz

Ace Activities has a range of activities for people with learning difficulties from catering to up cycling and music. One day a week to help Learning Disability Coordinator with basic admin that will include designing basic easy read material with graphics. Small friendly office with supportive staff. Upcycling Buddy for young person with Learning Disabilities

This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside a young person with learning disabilities on our exciting new upcycling project. We upcycle old pieces of furniture and make smaller items from wood such as garden planters and picture frames and notice boards. Register your interest by clicking here

 

Learning Disability Singing group Tea Lady or Man

We have a singing group who practice at Grange Farm, Chigwell on a Friday afternoon 1:00 -3:30 pm.  The volunteers sing at various events to fund raise and provide entertainment for the local community.  We are looking for a friendly person who can help to provide a welcome cup of tea whilst the volunteer practice singing. Minibus Chaperone and Back up Driver

The main role is to chaperone by assisting users on / off the bus and to load / unload wheelchairs and mobility aids, from their home to the club or trip. Our clients are very frail, most will have mobility issues, or problems with their balance. Flexible enough to be able to drive minibus if driver is on leave. Have a category D1 Driving Licence. Chat-Tea Befriending- Loughton

You will find this a very rewarding and fulfilling role as you form a trusting and supportive relationship offering a smile, a listening ear and much needed support. To work in a friendly office in Thornwood, Essex assisting with general administrative tasks which will include inputting records onto database, maintaining accurate and up to date records, answering general telephone calls.
